FLOYD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Stittville man was injured after his car rolled over while trying to avoid a deer in the roadway in the Town of Floyd.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Paul S. Sanoske, of Stittville, was driving southbound on Camroden Road around 3:34 p.m. on Sunday when a deer entered the roadway in front of him.

Sanoske tells authorities that he attempted to avoid the deer by swerving to the opposite side of the road, but lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to overturn several times.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Floyd Fire Department and the New York State Police.

Sanoske was transported via AmCare Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident. Hospital Officials say Sanoske was treated and released.

He is scheduled to appear at Floyd Town Court for failure to keep right and for not wearing a seat belt, the Sheriff's Office stated.
