Vernon Center man charged with rape, criminal sex act

VERNON CENTER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Vernon Center man is facing numerous charges after an investigation into sexual assault of a minor.

According to Oneida County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dean Obernesser of the Child Advocacy Center, Glenn A. Wallis Jr, 27, of Vernon Center was charged with two felony counts of third-degree rape and two felony counts of third-degree criminal sex act. All four charges are Class E Felonies.

Wallis was arraigned in the Town of Vernon Court and remanded to the Oneida County jail in lieu of $30,000 cash/bail. This investigation is continuing and investigator's ask that anyone who has information relevant to Wallis and this investigation call the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center at 315-732-3990.

The case has been turned over to the Oneida County District Attorney's Office for Grand Jury action.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
