Area communities issue parking restrictions in preparation of winter storm

(WKTV) - The Village of Cooperstown has announced a snow emergency, effective from midnight Tuesday to midnight Wednesday.

No parking on village streets will be allowed after 2 1/2 inches of snow has fallen, village officials say.

Additionally, the City of Oneonta urges all residents and visitors to have vehicles removed from city streets by midnight Tuesday.

The City of Oneonta has suspended parking restrictions and fees in the Downtown Parking Garage and city parking lots (Dietz Street lot, Westcott lot and Wall Street lot) effective from midnight to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The city reminds residents no vehicle can be parked on any city street after a snowfall of 2 1/2 inches or more.Vehicles left on the street after a 2 1/2-inch snowfall may be towed and/or ticketed at the owner's expense.
