Village of Whitesboro celebrates 200 years

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Village of Whitesboro held their official Bicentennial Celebration and Parade Sunday.

Despite the actual day passing in March, village officials waited for good weather to hold their events. Fortunately, sunny skies and warm temperatures helped their plan work on Sunday.

The parade went down Main Street and ended at the Village Green.

At the Village Green, a monument was dedicated to honor the residents of the village. The inscription was derived from the minutes of the very first meeting of the Whitesboro Village Board in 1813.

County Executive Anthony Picente attended the events along with other county, state and local officials from neighboring towns and villages.
