Virginia man pleads guilty in fatal Easter Sunday crash

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Virginia man has pleaded guilty to three crimes in the Easter Sunday car crash that killed a Utica man.

William Daniels pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, and aggravated DWIfor the crash that killed 50 year old Nurko Bakaran.

The accident happened at the intersection of Webster Ave and South Street in East Utica.

Police say Daniels was drunk when he sped through an intersection and hit Bakaran's vehicle.

An Oneida County Judge said Thursday that he'd received several letters of support from people in Daniels' hometown in Virginia.

Daniels is expected to be sentenced on September 21.
