UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Virginia man responsible for the Easter Sunday car crash that killed a Utica man has been sentenced to 7-21 years in prison.

William Daniels, of Hopewell, Virginia, had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated DWI, admitting that he was driving drunk when he crashed into the vehicle of Nurko Bakaran, 50, of Utica, at the intersection of Webster Ave and South Street.

Bakaran was killed in the crash and his wife was seriously injured.

An Oneida County Court Judge said previously that he'd received several letters of support from people in Daniels' hometown in Virginia.
