Water main break near Poland expected to be finished by next week

(WKTV) - Crews are now on site to fix the water main break near Poland.

According to water/sewer superintendent Scott Blaise, fittings are in the process of being delivered and work started Thursday morning.

Crews are hoping to have water restored at the beginning of next week. CCI Canastota Construction Co. are reverting and replacing an 800-foot, 16-inch water main and diverting it around the landslide.

About 50 homes are without water.

For those who are having issues with water, bring gallon jugs and proof address to show you are effective to the Herkimer Fire Department on North Washington Street between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You will be allowed to fill up your containers.
