West Edmeston man charged with rape for alleged sexual assault in 2011

WEST EDMESTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A West Edmeston man is charged with rape after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in 2011.

According to Chief Dean Obernesser of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Dean Zabele, 47, of West Edmeston has been charged with third-degree rape.

Zabale was arraigned in the Village of New York Mills and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

The case has been referred to the Oneida County District Attorney's Office for Grand Jury consideration.

The victim has been offered counseling services through the Advocacy Center.
