West Winfield man accused of hitting pedestrian, leaving scene

(WKTV) - A West Winfield man was arrested Thursday after Otsego County Deputies say he allegedly hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway in Edmeston.

David R. Wells Jr., 33, of West Winfield, is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident without providing information, unlicensed operator, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree.

According to officials, Wells was leaving the parking lot of NYCM Insurance on State Highway 80 in Edmeston when he struck Joan E. Dauchy, 62, of Burlington Flats as she was crossing the street.

Wells is accused of leaving the scene without providing any insurance or contact information. Dauchy was transported to a local hospital for an injury to her right arm.
