West Winfield woman accused of fraudulently purchasing pseudoephedrine

(WKTV) - A West Winfield woman faces numerous charges after a six-month investigation by New York State Police in Marcy into fraudulent pseudoephedrine purchases.

Christin Hungerford, 28, of West Winfield was charged with 14 counts of forgery in the second degree, 14 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, 14 counts of criminal impersonation in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

According to state police, the purchases were made at a Walgreens Pharmacy in Utica and one in New Hartford. Pseudoephedrine is commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Hungerford was arraigned in Utica and sent to Oneida County Jail on $10,000 bail. The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are pending.
