Westmoreland woman arrested for aggravated DWI following accident


WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - A  Westmoreland woman was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle accident, Sunday morning.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Mark R. Chrysler responded to the scene of an accident that occurred on West Carter Road just after midnight.

Upon arriving at the scene, Chrysler found that Denise M. Narrows, 49, had driven her 2008 Kia Optima into a parked car on the side of the road, sideswiping the driver's side and pushing the vehicle a few feet from where it was parked.

Following her collision with the parked car, Narrows' proceeded to cross the eastbound driving lane, and left the roadway, sending her vehicle into a tree head on.

No injuries were reported in the incident, as Narrows was wearing her seat belt, and no one was found to be in the parked car. However, both cars were towed as a result of excessive damage sustained.

Following investigation, Narrows was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content of over .18%.

She has been charged with Failing to Keep Right, Common Law DWI, Driving While Having a Blood Alcohol Content Above .08%, and Aggravated DWI.

She will appear in Westmoreland Town Court to answer the Charges in November.
