What would you do if you won $500 million Powerball jackpot?

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is now at half a billion dollars. What would you do if you were the big winner?

"If I win I would probably donate my money to several charities and probably by a condo in Key West," said Mary Lou Vellone of Utica.

"First thing I would do is take care of my family, that's number one and number two I would give quite a bit of it to the church I belong to," said Dominick Desimone of Frankfort.

"I would probably by a house somewhere warm," said Ron Wargo or Utica.

Before you start planning your new life as a multi-millionaire, just remember winning the big jackpot is no easy feat.

You have a 1 in 175 million chance of winning the Powerball.

There is a greater chance of getting into a plane crash or getting hit by lightning.

There hasn't been a Powerball winner in almost two months, so Wednesday's jackpot is the biggest in the lottery's history.

If you are lucky enough to be the only winner, you won't be pocketing $500 million. After taxes, you'll be left with about$ 325 million, which is still quite a chunk of change.
