Whitesboro Fish Market doing business on Christmas Eve

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fish markets across the area had very busy days on Monday as many people across the Mohawk Valley took part in the Feast of the Seven Fishes for the Christmas holiday.

The traditional dinner includes different seafood dishes and the owner of the Whitesboro Fish Market, Mike Walter, says that sales on Christmas Eve help carry his business through tough times.

"On a normal Friday, I go between 2 and 300 pounds," Walter said. "On Christmas Eve I go through a thousand-plus shrimp and scallops and everything, it's ten times as much as normal."

Walter says haddock is the number one seller followed by shrimp and scallops.
