Whitesboro-native safe after running in Marathon short distance from explosion

By ANDREW DONOVAN

BOSTON (WKTV) - Whitesboro-native Alyssa O'Toole participated in Monday's Boston Marathon and was just minutes away from the Finish Line when the bombs went off.

Her family and friends were preparing to root her on nearly mile marker 25, even closer to the finish line.

All are safe, according to Alyssa, and while she's disappointed she couldn't finish, she's even more grateful that everyone is okay.

She spoke with NEWSChannel 2's Andrew Donovan Monday evening via telephone. Click play to see the interview.
