Will the AUD be ready for when the Comets arrive?

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Preparations are underway at the Utica Auditorium, all to get ready for the Utica Comets debut this fall!

Concession stands will be upgraded, seats are being taken apart and changed and locker rooms will be built.
The facade is also getting a makeover and you will see a new paint job and new suites.

Rob Esche, President of the Utica Comets said its been a lot of work but the AUD will be ready for the season opener.

"What was i thinking? I should have kept on playing hockey! Its all exciting. I always say this and I think it probably gets redundant when people start hearing it all the time but I owe everything to this area and to hockey. I love both of them and I have the ability to put my playing career into this I couldn't ask for anything more. I think its going to be great for the area, the kids, the fans and the players. I've had a lot of different experiences world wide and I am going to try to jam pack them into the AUD.

The plan is to have the majority of the renovations done by September 15th. Either way the AUD will have to be completely renovated and ready for the arrival of the players on September 23rd.
