LITCHFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The industrial wind turbine ban in the Town of Litchfield will stand after a recent appeal by leaseholders has been withdrawn, according to a news release from the town's attorney.

In December, the State Supreme Court in Herkimer County dismissed a lawsuit filed against the Town of Litchfield which went into specific details about the size of the turbines that would and would not be allowed.

The companies had proposed building turbines as tall as 492 feet within town limits.

Now that the petitioners have withdrawn their appeal, the ban on industrial turbines in litchfield stands.
