Winter weather brings many outdoors for the 45th annual Cooperstown Winter Carnival
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Despite the winter season, or more accurately, because of it, plenty of people spent a good portion of their day outdoors Sunday for the 45th annual Cooperstown Winter Carnival.
The Carnival featured a number of different events around town, including the always popular ice sculptures and a pancake breakfast - just one of the many food offerings throughout the center of the village. "It's wonderful to get people out in the middle of winter and out of their houses and back involved in their neighborhoods and seeing their neighbors and their friends out," said Samantha Carr, Co-Chair of the 2011 Winter Carnival. "It gives them a reason to brave the cold and have a little fun." There were plenty of vendors selling snacks and hot chocolate, and activities galore for the kids. |
