(WKTV) - A Utica woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly brought drugs into the Oneida County Office Building, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office said.
Lauren A. Zeliniski, 30, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.
According to authorities, Zeliniski was conducting personal business on the first floor of the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave. Sheriff's Security Unit Sergeant Matthew J. Bauer noticed a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from Zelinski. Deputies detained her and found the smell was coming from Zelinski's handbag, the sheriff's office said. Upon searching Zelinski and the bag, deputies say they found three plastic bags of marijuana and a quantity of cocaine.
Zelinski was transported to the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Building, where she was turned over to a sheriff's investigator assigned to the Oneida County Drug Task Force. She was arraigned in the Village of New York Mills Court and released on $10,000 bail bond.
