Woman responsible for alleged Avon scheme faces new charges

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A woman who authorities say was recently arrested for scamming residents by posing as an Avon rep is now facing new charges.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Brittany M. Lloyd, 23, of Tallcottville in Lewis County, stole more than $80 in health and beauty aids from Dollar General in Boonville and left the store with the items concealed ina large purse.

Authorities say Lloyd had been recently arrested by deputies for scheming area residents by posing as a Avon Corporation Representative and taking victims merchandise payments, faces new charges.

She has been charged with petit larceny, was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the new charge in the Village of Boonville court at a later date.
