Woman wins largest jackpot in Turning Stone history

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The largest jackpot in Turning Stone Casino history was given out Saturday at the Million Dollar Bingo event.

Binghamton resident Frances Slesinsky of Binghamton won $1,000,000 in the final game. The player had to cover all the numbers on his or her bingo card in 47 draws, or less.

Slesinsky accomplished the historic “cover all” on the 47th draw, to dramatically put her name in the Turning Stone record books.

Officials say Slesinsky regularly visits Turning Stone to play in marquee bingo events. She was joined Saturday by her husband and two other friends.

Slesinsky said, “It's very exciting. Great things really do happen at Turning Stone."

Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said, "Bingo was the perfect way to kick off our 20th Anniversary celebration. It is a tribute to how the Oneida Nation started its gaming operation, so it is fitting to have bingo host our very first $1 million winner in Turning Stone’s 20 year history."

Saturday’s Million Dollar Bingo was the first event of Turning Stone’s 20th anniversary celebration, which runs from now until the end of July. Officials say the month-long celebration includes big ticket giveaways, major casino gaming tournaments, special parties and events, and exciting live entertainment by today’s biggest performers.
