Workshop talks solar power in Utica

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A workshop was held at the West Side Senior Center in order to bring about the topic of solar power in Utica, Wednesday.

Solar Liberty, a Buffalo-based company, conducted the workshop in conjunction with Councilman Jim Zecca, who saw the benefits solar power had in Madison County, and wanted to see the same for Oneida county as well.

The workshop was intended to present the positive effects of harnessing the sun's energy using solar panels, and how it could lead to lower power bills for people of the Utica area.

Councilman Frank Vescera was also involved in sponsoring this event, and intends to make this a talking point during the council meeting, Wednesday night.
