ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Members of the American Legion Post 229 and other special guests, laid a wreath in remembrance of those servicemen and women who never made it home. Veterans stood at attention, some in full uniform. This tradition, at the soldiers and sailors monument dates back more than 50 years.

"I am proud to have served and am very proud to look around and see other veterans here today remembering other veterans." said event coordinator and United States Air Force Veteran, Carl Yeomans.

From Oneida Square the group went to five other monuments and memorial sites around the city.
