By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Veterans, families of veterans, and officials Monday honored the sacrifices of those who have served at six memorials and monuments.

It's an effort coordinated by the American Legion's Post 229, but they are assisted by quite a few hands on deck including the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Vietnam Veterans of America, the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and several other groups.

The group started as it does each year at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, then made its way to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the POW-MIA Monument and the World War I / World War II/Korean War Monument, the Purple Heart Memorial Park, and finally the All Veterans Memorial at the Post Office Pitcher Street.
