By SPENCER DAVIDSON

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The YWCA of Utica is gearing up to stomp out domestic violence.

The local organization will be hosting multiple events later this month, under the title "Take Back the Night."

The first event will take place Thursday, October 10th, at 6 p.m., at Utica City Hall. Then following that, the YWCA will be at Rome City Hall on October 22nd also at 6 p.m. to promote women speaking up against abusive relationships.

In addition to the events, the YWCA has also partnered up with the Herkimer County Catholic Charities in order to provide 24-hour hotlines that will allow people within abusive relationships with a way to break the silence, and receive help and support.

The YWCA hotline can be reached at (315)797-7740, and the Herkimer Co. Catholic Charities at (315)866-0458.
