Yorkville gym hosts Zumbathon for Animals

By WKTV News

YORKVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Studio 55 in Yorkville was the site for a very unique event, Sunday.

The Zumbathon for Animals, instructed by Kerry Daly, was a way for locals to participate in a fun and healthy activity, while doing it for a good cause.

It cost $15 to get in, and all proceeds went towards "Response," a pitbull rescue, and Angels of Fur K-9 rescue.

It was last reported that the event raised $1500 towards donating items such as blankets, dog food, chew toys and treats for the animals.

"I have a pit mix myself and they are misunderstood," said Daly. "So I chose Response, they are just a pitbull rescue, and I did Angels of Fur, they are also here too."

Daly also reached out to Zumba instructors from all around the area, hoping to increase attendance at the event.
