(WKTV) - A Yorkville man is charged with 10 felonies after he allegedly stole from United Auto Supply, where he worked as general manager, New Hartford Police said.

William H. Marriott, 40, is charged with one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree and nine counts of falsifying business records, which are all felonies.

According to police, Marriott is accused of causing multiple false merchandise return records while working as store manager of United Auto Supply in the New Hartford Shopping Center. As a result, $2,700 was taken over a four-month period. Because of the false return entries, the cash loss was concealed before the general manager discovered the errors.

Marriott was released with appearance tickets and will appear in the Village of New Hartford Court on a later date.
