Young Announces Candidacy for GOP State Supreme Court Nomination

LOWVILLE, N.Y.(WKTV) - Attorney Michael Young has announced candidacy for the Republican nomination for New York State Supreme Court Judge in the 5th Judicial District.

That includes Lewis, Jefferson, Herkimer, Oswego, Oneida counties.
and Onondaga counties.

Young is a practicing attorney with 30 plus years experience in criminal and civil litigation in the Judicial District's courts.

He spent 13 years as the Lewis County DSS attorney and nine years as Lewis County District Attorney.

A graduate of the Albany Law School, he was admitted to practice law in 1978 and opened his law practice in Lowville in 1980.

Young is a member of the Lewis County, Jefferson County and Oneida County Bar Associations, Lowville Academy and Central School board member, current president of the Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Board of Education, board chairman for Snowbelt Housing Company, a board member with the Lewis County Agriculture Society, the Village/Town of Lowville Recreation Commission and the Lewis County General Hospital Board of Managers; and holds membership in the Lowville Lions and Elks Clubs.

Young will challenge Erin Gall for the GOP nomination.
