Zombie Walk raises 200 pounds of pet food for Stevens Swan Humane Society

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Local zombies are proud to call the Mohawk Valley home and are doing their part to ensure animals in area shelters are well taken care of.

The 4th Annual Zombie Walk was held in the city of Utica in October, at which time 200 pounds of pet food was donated. That food was handed over Thursday to the Stevens Swan Humane Society, along with a small monetary donation.

"They are a great organization to work with," said Kyle Riecker, organizer of the Utica Zombie Walk. "Obviously they support a great cause, keeping animals that are in a bad situation off the streets or even more serious trouble and they helped adopt and find good homes for these pets."

The group also donated 900 pounds of food to the Feed Our Vets Food Pantry in Utica.
