Assistant D.A. recalls deadly scene at Boston Marathon
(WKTV) - Many still wait for answers after the deadly Boston Marathon explosions rocked the nation Monday.
Among those who were at the scene of the tragic event was Oneida County Assistant District Attorney Rob Bauer. He crossed the finish line of the marathon about 25 minutes before the explosions.
He said he heard what sounded like thunder and for what felt like an eternity, but was actually about an hour, he couldn't reach his son and father, who were at the race.
"I saw some of the injured coming up toward me. I saw a man coming toward me he just looked shell shocked, he had a cut on his neck and his head," Bauer remembers. "Somebody put a makeshift bandage around wrapped around his head. A lot of children crying. That got to you. That was bad."
