IN CUSTODY: Ali Shabazz captured in just hours of feature

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Within the same day as being featured as a "Fugitive of the Week," Ali Shabazz is back in police custody.

The United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force announced the capture of Ali Shabazz, also known as "sparks," around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Shabazz was wanted by the United States Marshals Service for Violation of Supervised Release Conditions.

Shabazz was featured Thursday morning as the "Fugitive of the Week" on the web. One web user saw Shabazz's feature on the internet and the observed Shabazz walking down North Genesee Street in Utica.

Task Force members were contacted and Shabazz was arrested without incident on North Genesee Street.
