Once-emaciated dog Autumn looking for a new home

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Autumn, a dog who was found emaciated in Utica a month ago, is feeling much better and is now looking for a new home.

Autumn now weighs 40 pounds and is full of energy. The manager of Stevens-Swan Humane Society said while it's hard to tell she was ever mistreated, she does need a certain kind of forever home.

"Autumn needs a house that's willing to take the training to her work with her and we're not suggesting (a home with) other animals or small children," John Treen said. "Not that she's been mean or anything, but she's a little bit much and needs a lot of training right now."

Stevens-Swan is accepting multiple applications for anyone looking to adopt the pitbull mix. Those interested in filling out an application can go to the humane society at 5664 Horatio St.
