Change of Command

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV)-- The U.S. Army chose Ft. Stanwix in Rome as the backdrop for a change of command ceremony on Sunday. The 865th combat support hospital, whose headquarters are in Utica now has a new commander. She is Colonel Kathie Clark, a native of Pennsylvania. The hospital is an Army reserve unit that controls medical assets throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

Colonel Kathie Clark spoke about her new position. "Being the Commander of a Combat Support Hospital is the most elite position that I could ever imagine to be, and it's a place I desire to be and my family and I are ready and able to support the unit, and lead them to the places that we hope they will go in support of our nation."

The 865th combat support hospital has a support base of 487 soldiers.
