Libyans line up for view of Gadhafi

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - Men, women and children have been lining up at a shopping center in the Libyan city of Misrata to view the
blood-streaked body of Moammar Gadhafi. It's laid out on a mattress
on the floor of an emptied-out vegetable freezer.

The bodies of one of Gadhafi's sons and a former defense minister were also put on display today. They were covered with blankets so that only their faces were visible. The guards at the site even organized separate visiting hours for families and for single men.

International rights groups have been calling for an investigation into how Gadhafi died. A spokesman for the military council in Misrata says at least four groups of doctors have examined the body and determined that the cause of death was a bullet to the head and stomach, but he says there's been no autopsy yet. He says prosecutors will decide, along with the National Transitional Council, whether there will be an autopsy.

Video showed Gadhafi alive, wounded and being beaten by his captors after he was found in his hometown of Sirte, raising questions about whether he was executed by his captors.

Gadhafi was supposed to be buried yesterday, but it was delayed amid calls for an investigation and uncertainty about where to bury
him.
