SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Syracuse-area man died after he fell from the back of a friend's car.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department says 20-year-old Keith Seeber of Lysander died last evening at a Syracuse hospital from severe head and neck injuries he suffered in the fall.

Authorities say Seeber was horsing around with friends when he climbed onto the trunk of a car with his 20-year-old friend at the wheel. The sheriff says Seeber got on the trunk, then rolled or jumped off, hit the ground and struck his head several times.

The accident occurred about a block away from Seeber's home.

Deputies are trying to determine whether the vehicle was moving at the time and how fast it was going.
