Woman's Death Called A Murder, Husband In Hospital After Crash

By Nate Crossett

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say the death of a woman at her estranged husband's Syracuse home is a homicide. Meanwhile, the woman's husband is recovering in the hospital Monday morning after being injured in a car crash.

On Sunday, the Onondaga County medical examiner ruled the death of 45-year-old Linda Neely a homicide, but authorities aren't revealing any details. Neely was found Saturday afternoon by a neighbor unconscious on the bathroom floor in the home of her estranged husband, Michael Neely.

Linda Neely had moved out of the house within the last few months and had returned to pick up some plants for her new house.

Authorities say Michael Neely's car hit a tree about 30 miles away in Cortland County at about the same time his wife's body was being found. He's listed in fair condition at University Hospital in Syracuse.
