LEBANON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 7-year-old girl is in serious condition after a car accident in Madison County. It happened around 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Town of Lebanon. The accident involved two cars at the intersection of River Road and Chamberlain Road.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department says Courtney Mills, 30, of Sherburne, lost control of her vehicle on slippery roads and crashed into a car driven by Minnie Hook, 34 of Lebanon.

Mills' niece Abigail Seaton, 7, of Eaton, was a front seat passenger. She was critically injured at the scene. A helicopter was called to the scene but could not take off because of the weather.

Seaton was taken by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with multiple internal injuries. The Madison County Sheriff's Department says her condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. Mills was ticketed for failure to keep right.

Both Mills and Hook were taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton for non-life threatening injuries.

All parties were wearing their seatbelts and both airbags deployed.
