NORWICH, N.Y. (AP) - A 45-year-old man was indicted yesterday for the death of his apartment manager last month.

A Chenango County grand jury returned two first-degree murder indictments and five other felony charges against Daniel Brown Senior of Norwich.

Brown was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after police found the body of 45-year-old Tammy Periard inside his apartment. Autopsy results found that Periard died of asphyxiation by strangulation and suffered blunt trauma injuries to the head.

Authorities say the two had known each other since attending high school together.

Brown has been in jail without bail since his March 29th arrest.  He's also indicted on one count of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree robbery, and one count each of first-degree rape and first-degree assault.
