CLAY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The body of 20-year-old Jenni-Lyn Watson was found Saturday and Onondaga County Sheriffs have charged her ex-boyfriend with her murder, according to Undersheriff Warren Darby.

The remains were found in Clay Central Park behind the local YMCA Saturday morning and authorities confirmed that the remains were in fact that of Watson's in a 5:00 p.m. press conference Saturday.

Darby also announced that Watson's ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Steven Piper, has been charged with her murder.

Watson went missing just over a week ago after returning back to the Syracuse area for Thanksgiving break from college. She is a junior dance major at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania.

18 police agencies contributed to the search for Watson and Undersheriff Warren described the search as the best effort he's ever seen in his career. Darby says the search was expanded and more than 100 people were hunting through 1,200 acres, up from 600.
