Ex-con pleads guilty in NY man's road rage death

AUBURN, N.Y. (AP) - An 80-year-old central New York man who served prison time for a beating death in the 1960s is facing up to 18 years behind bars for killing a man in a road-rage accident.

Syracuse media outlets report that William LeVea of Fulton pleaded guilty late Wednesday in Cayuga County to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.

In November 2009, authorities said LeVea was drunk when he used his vehicle to repeatedly ram the pickup truck driven by 41-year-old Christopher Spack of Camillus, causing him to crash into another truck. Spack was killed in the collision.

LeVea faces six to 18 years in prison when he's sentenced March 2.

Authorities say LeVea was previously imprisoned for beating a man to death in an Oswego County bar in 1967.
