Flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of fallen soldier

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Governor Cuomo announced today that he is directing all state government buildings to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, September 4 in honor of a New York Soldier who died in Afghanistan, Wednesday.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis, a Staten Island native, was wounded when his forward operating base in Ghazni Province was attacked. He was transported to a medical treatment facility, where he later died from his injuries.
