Gun Control lawsuit moving forward

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKTV) - As the constitutional/legal challenge to New York Safe Act progresses through the courts, the groundswell of support for the suit continues to grow outside the courtroom.

Buffalo attorney James Tresmond is challenging New York's new, strict, gun control laws. The attorney says that this week, he'll be applying for class action designation, which would make the lawsuit a class action suit, which would cover every gun owner in New York State.

Tresmond also says he's been getting calls from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents, who plan to go public with their support for his effort very soon.

A State Supreme Court Justice out of Buffalo will rule on the class action application at a future date. The case is due back in court April 25, at which time it could go to trial.

Tresmond says he and his son, who is helping him with the suit, have dedicated it to the workers of Ilion and Remington Arms.
