"I'm not the Catwoman" shouts woman at Manhattan sentencing

By Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - A woman who held up three Manhattan boutiques has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

According to the Daily News, Shana Spalding yelled "I'm not the Catwoman" as she was led out of court Wednesday.

She wore a cat mask in one of the heists, earning her the moniker. In another, she wore a burqa.

Prosecutors said she used a toy gun and threatened to harm shop workers while demanding cash.

Spalding asked the judge for mercy, noting that no one was hurt during the 2010 spree.

Her lawyer had asked for a five-year sentence, noting she had no previous criminal history.
