Lt. Governor Robert Duffy lays out plan for Mohawk Valley revival

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy gave an hour-long presentation in Herkimer, Wednesday.

One of the major points he touched on is the effort to revive manufacturing in upstate New York.

The executive budget proposes decreasing the tax rate on corporate income from 5.9-percent... to zero.

It will apply to all manufacturing companies upstate.

"The point is to lower the cost on these companies create jobs and keep them here," said LT. Governor Duffy.

It was also revealed, Wednesday, that the total pot for the fourth "Regional Economic Development Council Awards" will be $150,000,000.

The Mohawk Valley has received more than $200,000,000 from these awards over the last three years.
