School aid announced for local districts

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi (D-Utica) and State Senator Joseph Griffo (R-Rome) jointly announed the final state budget will include an increase of over $15 million in state education funding to local school districts.

The spending plan – which is anticipated to be taken up by the Assembly and Senate this week – provides an overall increase of $1.1 billion in school aid.

Specifically, local school aid will be increased by the following amounts:
• Central Valley – $1,984,744;
• Frankfort-Schuyler – $425,267;
• Holland Patent – $642,936;
• New Hartford – $306,522;
• New York Mills – $172,455;
• Oriskany – $307,918;
• Rome – $1,816,604;
• Sauquoit Valley – $482,904;
• Sherrill – $615,323;
• Utica – $6,999,471;
• Westmoreland – $393,777; and
• Whitesboro – $1,160,110.
