State Senate approves SUNY tuition incease

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The same sex marriage vote was not the only one that took place on the Senate floor Friday night. The Senate also passed the SUNY 2020 Bill.

The bill includes a tuition increase of $300 per year over the next five years. The bill also gives the SUNY system $140 million in capital dollars to improve schools.

Senator James Seward spoke on the Senate floor on how important the SUNY system is to the Mohawk Valley.

The bill takes effect on July 1, 2011.
