State police investigate dog drowning in Tupper Lake

By The Associated Press

TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a case of animal cruelty in the Adirondack Mountains that left a German shepherd dead.

The dog was found last Friday in Tupper Lake, and state police say the animal had a cinder block tied to its neck and appeared to have been intentionally drowned.

Troopers estimate the dog was killed sometime around the beginning of June.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact state police at (518) 897-2000.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Tupper Lake police are assisting with the investigation.
