BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 23-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in a shooting outside a downtown Buffalo bar that killed four people.

Riccardo McCray of Buffalo appeared in city court Thursday morning, where the plea was entered on his behalf. No bail was set.

Police charged him Wednesday with four counts of second-degree murder after he turned himself at the WIVB-TV studios that afternoon.

McCray is accused of opening fire on a crowd outside the City Grill around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 14 after its managers shut down the restaurant early because of a disturbance.

Four people were killed, including a Texas man celebrating his wedding anniversary. Four others were wounded. Three have been released from the hospital while the fourth remains in critical condition.
