SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say four people, including three children, are dead after an early-morning fire swept through a house in Schenectady.

Officials tell local media that a fourth child was taken to the burn unit at Westchester Medical Center after the Thursday morning blaze.

They say the fire in Schenectady broke out shortly after 4 a.m. The fire struck the two-story wood frame house after firefighters fought another blaze about a half-mile away.
