PULASKI, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 23-year-old construction worker has died after a gust of wind blew him off the roof of a central New York auto dealership.

Troopers say the Kyle Brown of Turin in Lewis County was installing a metal roof Monday afternoon on a new building at the F.X. Caprara dealership in the Oswego County village of Pulaski, 35 miles north of Syracuse.

Police say a gust of wind blew Brown and a piece of roofing off the structure and he fell about 24 feet to the ground.

Brown was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m.

Troopers say Brown worked for MTL Design in Watertown.

Winds gusted to more than 40 mph in some parts of central New York on Monday.
