(WKTV) - The police chief of the Village of Greene in Chenango County faces more charges in addition to his petit larceny and harassment charges he was arrested on in April, New York State Police said.
Steven J. Dutcher, 43, of Greene is charged with three counts of grand larceny, two counts of official misconduct and one count each of petit larceny, falsifying business records and offering a false instrument for filing.
According to officials, Dutcher allegedly stole two Greene Police Department patrol rifles and a police department vehicle dog cage. Dutcher was arrested on April 24 for petit larceny and harassment. The latest arrest comes after a two-month investigation conducted by New York State Police.
Dutcher was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear on the charges in Village of Greene Court on July 22.
